Summary of research
NSW is already experiencing the impacts of climate change. It affects all of us, and will affect us differently, depending on where we live.
To better understand the extent of climate change we may face at a local scale, the NSW Government leads the NSW and Australian Regional Climate Modelling (NARCliM) project, an initiative that delivers world-recognised regional climate projections for NSW and its regions.
The projections are summarised as snapshots to provide accessible climate information that can support NSW communities to understand and plan for the impacts of climate change on their infrastructure, environment and way of life; and to support informed planning, risk assessment and action.
NARCliM2.0 snapshots present projections from the third generation of NARCliM data – NARCliM2.0 - and include projections for 5 climate variables under 3 emissions scenarios for the middle of the century (2050) and end of the century (2090). NARCliM2.0 snapshots are available for the NSW, the ACT and 10 NSW regions.
