What are intensive projects?

Intensive projects are collaborations between the Research Centre for Ecosystem Resilience (Botanic Gardens of Sydney) and other organisations to obtain more detailed information beyond that provided in the Restore and Renew webtool. They are written up as publicly available reports that can serve as resources to inform restoration initiatives.

These reports include genetically optimised collection strategies that specify the number and location of sites from which seed should be collected to capture maximum genetic diversity. Each intensive project is typically conducted within one specific geographical area, but the reports contain species-specific information that may be useful for other projects.

If a species of interest is included within an intensive, a ‘related intensives’ button will appear under the species information in Step 3 of the Restore and Renew webtool.
