Summary of research

The NSW climate is already changing, with more extreme climate events being observed, including heatwaves, heavy rainfall and severe bushfire conditions. This baseline assessment was published by the NSW Government in 2020. It reviews the current state of research on extreme climate events that affect NSW. This information can be used by decision makers and researchers to understand how extreme climate events affect NSW and identify key areas for further research and action.
