Local councils help shape a resilient NSW

The Local Government Climate Change Action Survey has been delivered every 2-5 years since 2008. Previous surveys were completed in 2018, 2015, 2010 & 2006 and focused on climate change adaptation.

This survey seeks to understand local government’s progress toward net zero and readiness to respond to the impacts of climate change. Feedback provided in the survey informs the design and delivery of climate adaptation and mitigation resources, strategies, and funding opportunities to support your council and community.

The most recent, 2023 survey was run jointly by NSW Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability group (ECCS) and LGNSW and included both adaptation and mitigation. A report with findings of this survey will be published in 2024.
